It is now a fact that the coronavirus will have a major impact on the electronics industry.
The coronavirus outbreak was declared a global health emergency by the World Health Organization, and threatens to upend the global supply chain.
Component manufacturers like Panasonic, Samsung, Molex, TE Connectivity, Diodes, TDK and others have already shut down some of their production plants in China with unpredictable consequences for the industry in the coming months.
The biggest concern for the electronics supply chain remains the upstream raw material, components, and subsystems that so many product factories performing FAT rely upon for daily production inputs.
Restarting a machine, or process, or an entire production line that has been out of service for 3 weeks can be a challenging task. Exactly what the impact of this will be, and how long the shut-downs will last, is unknown at this time.
Over the next few days and weeks, we will be doing our best to help our customers find solutions and apply strategies to minimize this impact by utilizing our hybrid distribution network.
If you are facing availability issues on you supply chain you can contact your Account Manager at AKTINA_CDS and we can work together during this unprecedented situation.
